Among the Xirkaali witch hunters, there is none so ruthless and fanatical as Baidar Witch-eater. While most witch hunters will seek to subdue rather than kill their quarry, so that they can be harnessed in witch cages, Baidar looks for the least excuse to destroy his prey. It is his belief that the only safe sorcerer is a dead one. His extremes disturb his superiors, but even they concede that Baidar is the very best witch hunter in the Empire.
